The Zine – Advertising info, Plans + Goals, etc « Thread Started on Oct 12, 2009, 11:21am »
The first issue of the zine was a relative success, so I’m keen to get started on Issue #2 as soon as possible. I was planning to bring the next issue out in January, but (if no-one disagrees) I’d like to get it out by November… if not before.
Since bringing out a ‘printed issue’ at the moment will cost money (money which, unfortunately, I don’t have), I aim to raise a bit of money in the next few issues by selling discounted advertising space in the PDF issues. So, this means that I’d be looking to release an issue per month for the foreseeable future, and save the money raised from each issue’s advertising space to put towards a professionally printed zine at some point next year. Early next year hopefully! Of course, the zine will remain free to download (and pick up where printed copies are available).
Just because the zine will mainly be a PDF download (although I probably will print out some copies and hand them out at local venues), this does not mean it will be promoted any less (in fact, due to the Internet, just about anyone and everyone will be able to read a copy).
Advertising prices: (all prices are in GBP)

The deadline for sending in artwork is Monday 26th October 2009. If you plan to have an advert in the next issue you will need to have contacted me before this date.
The zine will be released on Friday 6th November 2009.
Promotion:
We will be promoting the zine wherever possible. The zine will be available to download (or, at least a link to the download page will be available) at the following places:
The Loucifer Speaks Website The Loucifer Speaks Forum Any forums where I (or anyone who would like to) will display either a text link or image link to the download in my signature. This will include at least 15-20 forums. MySpace – on the profile page, blog, status and weekly bulletins (bulletins may be more frequent) Facebook – links on my personal page and the Loucifer Speaks page. As well as notes on each page and the zine ‘release date’ will be noted as an ‘event’ where people can invite their friends (the link will be provided on this page), and status messages. Twitter Mailing List Loucifer Speaks forum email list Everyone who has subscribed will automatically get a copy. Flyers – since it will be relatively cheap and easy for me to get together some A5 flyers for this (easier than printing the whole zine on a photocopier at any rate!) I will be distributing flyers containing information on the current zine and where people can download it from at local gigs (in the London area) and local shops/pubs. In addition to the information about the zine (interviews, etc) that will be on the flyers, a list of all the advertisers and links to their websites (or whatever!) will be on the back of the flyer and will be known as “Friends of Loucifer Speaks”. So, not only will they see your link on the flyer, but it will also be in the zine when they check it out. Space permitting, I will also be purchasing ad space at Advertise Your Site.
